Prove Me Wrong.

As a trainer, I wear many hats. Certified since 1998, I’ve taught everything from Muscle conditioning using free weights, cardio classes, skipping, gliders, step classes (yes they’re still relevant), stability ball, aqua fitness, and my personal favorite, Pilates. I’m always taking classes, workshops and keeping up with the latest industry trends, while at the same time putting my own spin on it.

Personal Training

Aqua Fitness - WATER IS YOUR BEST FRIEND

My very first certification was Aqua fitness. I felt that aqua fitness needed
strong instructors to take away the stigma that it is only for the elderly.
Fast forward over 30 years I’m still teaching in the water. Whether its at a
gym, country club or a private pool.

There is a definite art to teaching aqua fitness and I’ve managed to make
participants sweat in the water. Never underestimate the power of water – it is a
no impact workout with great benefits. If you are compromised or just like
being in the water this is a wonderful way to keep in shape.

Pilates - NO MUSCLE LEFT BEHIND

I’m certified through Body Harmonics Toronto. Pilates is a unique way to use
movement. Isolating small muscle you come out of a Pilates session feeling
longer and leaner. I describe it as my body ‘sings’ after. I use Pilates
rolls, gliders, weighted balls, squishy ball, blocks and balance disc. Pilates
never gets boring and the creative way to move your body never ends.

Post Rehab - STRENGTHEN THE BODY, EMPOWER THE MIND, TRANSFORM THE SOUL

With my Pilates background and a recent set back with my own health (I’m all
better now) post rehab is becoming very popular as we move up in life. Whether
you just had a knee or hip replacement or you fell on ice, exercise after rehab
is essential part of healing and getting stronger. Those who stop after rehab
never quite get back to pre injury. The people that continue exercise thrive!
Ask your friends who exercise post surgery how they feel to those who don’t.
Thinking long term is the most important gift you can give yourself.

Cardio / interval / muscle conditioning - RESPECT THE BODY ITS THE ONLY ONE YOU’LL GET

Due to short sessions I really try and make each session individualised.
Whatever the client needs I do my best to deliver.

How do I feel about cardio? Personally, I love it! But I’m not the norm. Most
people cringe at the thought. I ease my clients into cardio. I truly make it
fun and the time fly by. It doesn’t have to be long but it does have to be
efficient. I mix up my sessions by using free weight, bands, stability balls
matt work and whatever is required to make the session effective and yes FUN!
Again I will repeat myself over and over again, if you don’t like to exercise
the chances of you doing it are slim. Exercise really IS an essential part of
everyday life and like fine wine and good Chocolate should be enjoyed.
